MiColEC is an advanced R&D project focused on redefining micro-logistics through collaborative, transparent, and digitally orchestrated operations. Developed by Logimade Innovation in partnership with Universidade da Madeira and ARDITI, the project leverages blockchain technology and intelligent route management to create more efficient, scalable, and sustainable logistics ecosystems. As demand grows and cities become more complex, logistics networks must adapt. MiColEC provides a future-ready platform capable of supporting micro-hubs, multi-stakeholder coordination, real-time authentication, and transparent operational oversight.

Modern logistics is evolving rapidly as cities expand, delivery volumes rise, and environmental regulations tighten. Traditional infrastructures struggle to keep up, often operating with fragmented communication, limited coordination, and outdated route planning. These inefficiencies lead to higher costs, longer delivery windows, and unnecessary environmental impact.
The demand for real-time visibility, trustworthy data exchange, and collaborative routing across multiple logistics actors has never been higher. Yet most existing systems lack the tools to support this new, interconnected reality. MiColEC tackles this gap by delivering a unified, transparent platform designed to streamline micro-logistics and foster a new era of cooperation.




MiColEC analyzes real-time logistics data to optimize routing, reduce mileage, and improve resource allocation across micro-hubs. This leads to faster deliveries, lower fuel consumption, and significantly reduced operational waste.

Every operation — from drop-off to allocation — is recorded through blockchain and smart contracts. This ensures auditable, tamper-proof transactions that build trust among partners while guaranteeing the integrity of daily operations.

MiColEC connects logistics operators through a collaborative micro-hub framework supported by blockchain authentication. Operators register deliveries, share routing data, and coordinate drop-offs and pick-ups through a centralized interface. Smart contracts automate validation and operational agreements, ensuring that each action is transparent and secure.
Intelligent route algorithms distribute vehicles efficiently, minimizing redundant travel and maximizing capacity usage. As deliveries move through the network, every event is recorded immutably, allowing all stakeholders to verify activity without compromising privacy or control.
